CloseHenriquez, perhaps the preeminent natural winemaker in Chile, sources his vines from many of the best and oldest vineyard sites in the Bio-Bio and Itata Valleys. These Cinsault grapes are from century-old vines that are farmed sustainably adhering to biodynamic principles in a cool climate that allows for long, slow ripening. The result is a well-knit, medium bodied, mineral driven, savory red with vibrant red cherry and blackberry flavors, firm tannins that lead into a dry, earthy finish. Harvested by the hands of experienced, local, indigenous farmers, the wine is destemmed in a traditional zaranda (bamboo destemmer), fermented and aged in the same concrete vessel with native yeast for 14 months. Drinks wonderfully with tomato basil risotto, roasted duck or cassoulet!
