Gnarly first ever private barrel is this 5yr Empire Rye from NY Distilling Co, over in Williamsburg! We selected our barrel at 4 years of age and asked them to age it for another year. This pure, unique, undiluted rye was bottled at cask strength, clocking in at a powerful 112 proof, yet it's unbelievably smooth and sippable. Well-rounded brown sugar, creme brulee notes on the nose yield to a smooth palate with hint of fig and tobacco followed by a spicy finish. Enjoy this with a splash of water or a large rock to bring out more of the sweet notes or use it to upgrade your Manhattan, Old Fashioned or Sazerac.
