CloseClean and refreshing with bright fruits balanced by lightly-toasted notes. These characteristics are a direct result of winemaking techniques, which include blending 60% Pinot Meunier, 20% Chardonnay, and 20% Pinot Noir, with 60% of the wine coming from a perpetual reserve started in 1980. Malolactic fermentation is blocked in the production of the base wines, giving the fresh acidity. To balance this acidity a unique semi- solera method is used at the blending stage, whereby a small proportion of high-quality, multi-vintage aged wine is added to the final blend allowing weight, texture and complexity. The resulting wines from Goutorbe-Bouillot are of incredible value and the easy-drinking style works well with or without food.
