Made from skin contact Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris from multiple vintages with no added sulfur, Si Rose is a full bodied, aromatic orange wine from Domaine Binner, a titan of Alsace, with roots dating back to 1770. Christian took over the reins in 1999 and doubled down on the traditional farming methods that were passed down over the generations, by converting to full biodynamics. The name Si Rose is a macabre word play – the French pronunciation is the same as ‘cirrhosis' hence the liver on the label. This 'daring and dangerous' wine is intense, with concentrated aromas and flavors of lychee, rosewater, jasmine tea, and white peach framed by grippy tannins from an extended maceration and deceptively crisp acidity. Enjoy with Thai fish curry, chicken tikka masala and of course, Foie Gras!!!
