Mezcal de Leyendas Maguey Verde is crafted by Maestro Che Hernández, a second-generation mezcalero who follows the original recipe of his late father, ‘Don Che’. This mezcal is made with agave Salmiana, one of the few agaves tough enough to survive in the rocky and arid lands of the Potosino plateau. Salmiana is one of the most abundant agave sub-species in Mexico, and is colloquially referred to as the “green giant,” as its flower can grow up to 20-40 feet in height. It’s herbaceous on the nose, with a finish that’s mild and round, with a subtle earthy note.
