A fresh, clean, straightforward Pinot, L’Umami is sustainably grown and vinified at the Northwest Wine Co, a cellar project of Bordeaux-born winemaker Laurent Montalieu, in the Willamette Valley of Western Oregon. It’s fresh, juicy and medium-bodied with balanced acidity, aromas of black cherries, a subtle floral note and a kiss of vanilla. Ripe fruit and low-ish tannins create a very supple, almost silky texture with a dry finish. Pairs perfectly with a milder hard cheese like Gouda or Gruyère, a mushroom leek tart or just about any chicken dish, even spicy Korean wings.
