CloseDescended from a long line of farmers and wine growers in the Pacific Northwest dating back to the 1890's, Lowell Ford created Illahe to create world class, environmentally friendly wines that reflect their estate's terroir. Currently run by his son Brad, they are LIVE-certified and Salmon Safe with extensive use of cover crops to benefit the soil, reduce water dependency and promote biodiversity. This 100% Pinot Noir is hand harvested, basket pressed and fermented with native yeast in their gravity flow, energy efficient winery. 25% is whole cluster and the wine is aged in 10% new oak and the rest in neutral oak. The result in a beautiful, medium bodied Pinot with silky tannins, aromas of red berries and baking spices and flavors of ripe cherry, raspberry, buttered biscuit, and dry leaves. Pairs wonderfully with sheet pan chicken and root veggies or Matsutake Tom Ka Soup.
