La Sapata is a small-scale certified organic winery located in the Danube River Delta, near the Black Sea in southern Romania. Founders Roberto di Filippo and Roberto Pioni, two long-time friends, strive to preserve the rich history of winemaking in the country through low-intervention techniques and the cultivation of native varieties. This Pét-nat rosé, made from 100% Băbească Neagră (which roughly translates to “black grandmother’s grape”) is crisp and lively, with notes of crunchy red fruit and white flowers. A bright pink wine perfect for a Valentine’s day charcuterie board of marcona almonds, gorgonzola cheese, and dark chocolate.
