This medium-bodied, savory rosé is made from 100% Nerello Mascalese, farmed organically and biodynamically on calcareous soils of Marsala in western Sicily, by fifth generation Sicilian winemakers, Flavia Rallo and her brother Giacomo. The grapes are manually harvested, fermented spontaneously in stainless steel for a month, and gently pressed. The wine spends another month in barriques and is bottled without fining or filtration. The nose is a medley of red fruit, tobacco, flowers, and orange zest. The palate refreshes with an acidic tingle and notes of cranberry, pomegranate, and volcanic minerals followed by fine tannins, herbaceousness and salinity on the finish. The liter size is perfect for picnics and larger gatherings. Pair with a blood orange and prosciutto radicchio salad or eggplant Caponata.
