CloseSituated in the heart of Pupillin, the cradle of Ploussard, the Overnoy-Crinquand families have had a hand in Jura winemaking for three generations along with their polycultural farms which include fields of grains, cereals, flowers, fruit trees and about 70 cows whose milk is used to make Comté, a revered local delicacy. The vineyards of La Bidode have always been organically farmed and are situated on an extremely steep clay-limestone slopes with fast draining soil perfect for producing intense, dynamic wines. This 100% Ploussard is hand harvested, de-stemmed and fermented spontaneously in neutral oak foudre and bottled with minimal sulfur to retain its natural characteristics. The result is a clean light-to-medium bodied brilliant ruby red with aromas of red berry and just a touch of baking spices. On the palate, intense notes of wild strawberry, pomegranate, cherry, leather, and clove lead to 'sauvage' palate with Jura's textbook chalky minerality, earthiness and a surprisingly grippy, tannic structure. This wine has range - enjoy with anything from Jambon de Jura and Comté to Filipino Menudo.
