CloseFrom the first recognized Cru within Muscadet, Remi Branger and Gwénaëlle Croix produce a stunning Melon de Bourgogne that transcends the appellation. From 50-100 year old vines, situated on a small parcel of soil over quartz and mica bedrock, they employ a unique three wire trellis system that improves air flow to reduce fungi and increases leaf size in the canopy for shade resulting in a longer, slower ripening of the berries. Lovingly tended and biodynamically farmed, it's harvested by hand, fermented spontaneously with native yeast and aged on its lees in underground vats for a minimum of two years. Delicate honeysuckle and stone fruit aromas are followed by notes of crisp green apple and lime with just a touch of tartness, then finish with the characteristic minerality, salinity and leesiness of a typical Muscadet that’s simply better in Clisson. Pairs perfectly with Moules Frites, seafood terrine or a tempura battered vegetable platter.
