Often used in commercial blends in Argentina, this Bonarda comes from the Colonia las Liebres winery in Mendoza, and represents a new movement of making organically grown single varietal Bonarda. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel for 10 days before aging in concrete tanks. The wine is medium to big bodied, with aromas of fresh black cherries and rose, with flavors of raspberry, plum, and a slight minty herbaceousness, a plush mouthfeel and a dark chocolate finish. A great accompaniment to stews and meats like Steak with Chimichurri.
