Pianogrillo Manor was originally built as a medieval fortress, high on a cliff as a lookout and defense against the Saracens. Since the 1700’s, it’s been a working manor and Baronial estate with cypress and olive groves, assorted cover crops and Ibleo Nero, Sicily’s prized black pigs. Their vineyards are farmed organically on white marl, calcareous, clay-based soil. Curva Minore is a classic Cerasuolo blend of 50% Nero d'Avola and 50% Frappato.
