CloseFrom Kartli, the home of Georgia’s ancient royal vineyards, this crisp, clean, unique rosé is a field blend of Goruli Mtsvane, Chinuri, Danakharuli, Shavkapito, and Takveri - all obscure, indigenous red and white varietals from the village of Mukhrani. The grapes are de-stemmed and lightly crushed into stainless steel with one day skin macerations before being racked into stainless steel tank for 24 months. Quinta, the name of the wine, comes from the Georgian musical term used to describe intervals of fifths which is a nod to the maker, John Wurderman’s background as a dancer/artist/musician. Tangy guava, citrus and sour cherry flavors with a hint of hibiscus and spice form the backbone of this spectacularly harmonious rosé. Super versatile, it pairs extremely well with salads or mild cheeses but can stand up to a hearty wild mushroom tagliatelle or Mtsvadi, the local pork, mutton or veal kebabs that are marinated in pomegranate juice and use grapevines as sticks!
