CloseFrom the undulating hills of Judea just west of Jerusalem, Agur produces this world-class Bordeaux-ish blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 14% Syrah, 6% Petite Syrah, .5% Petit Verdot that’s fermented and aged in oak barrels, some new and some used. Deep, dark and full bodied, this brooding red displays an an evolved nose of black raspberry and cherry with notes of clove and rose hip. The palate is ripe and jammy with wild berries and a hint of vanilla and eucalyptus, balanced by lush but firm and dry, earthy, leathery tannins. A classic steak wine, it also pairs well with Arayes, the grilled pita with minced lamb, spicy cherry tomato and tahini from 12 Chairs!
