CloseUnder the tutelage of Luís Seabra, Mariana Salvador crafts this compelling blend of 40% Jaen, 30% Touriga Nacional, and 30% Alfrocheiro, all indigenous varietals, planted on high elevation, grantic vineyards that are sustainably farmed and in the process of obtaining organic certification. Fermented with native yeast in used French oak vats with 35% whole bunch followed by a 30 days cuvaison, the wine is then aged for 15 months in the same vats and barrels. The result is an honest medium bodied red with brambly, wild berry aromas and flavors, herbal, autumn leaf notes, balanced acidity and a firm, dry, tannic finish. Pairs perfectly with Chanfana, Portuguese roasted goat in a clay pot, Queijo de Ovelha sheep milk cheese or vegan chorizo!
