This ripe, yet supple Chardonnay comes from low-yielding vineyards among the hills of Echevronne, a hamlet in the Cotes de Beaune. While the Lucien Jacob Estate originally specialized in cassis and framboise, they pivoted into serious winemaking with the acquisition of 15 hectares of vineyards in 1960. Les Larrets is barrel-fermented, and aged in old oak barrels until the next year's harvest. Medium-bodied with ripe orchard and pineapple fruit flavors, balanced acidity and a subtle butterscotch, crème brulée note on the finish.
