Muscadet is the name of the grape and ’Sur Lie' refers to the extended fermentation on the lees - essentially the decomposing yeast cells once they’ve done the good Lord’s work and turned sugar into a!cohol. The result is a fresh, bone-dry wine with subtle fruit flavors, a little brininess or umami and a hint of petillance. Not to be confused with Muscat(o), Muscadet is THE classic pairing for oysters but goes well with most seafood and shellfish
