CloseThe De Forvilles emigrated to Piedmont from Belgium in 1848 and established themselves in the village of Barbaresco in 1860; in 1907 Paolo Anfosso married into the DeForville family and took over the reins of the family business, but it was only in 1940 that they began bottling their own wines. This 100% Dolcetto is medium-plus bodied with ripe, dark berry flavors, dry but somewhat rounded tannins with a hint of anise and earth. This is the perfect wine for a serious pizza, like The Miss Betty White by Auggie Russo of tinypizzakitchen which has smoked sheep milk cheese, summer squash and dried rose petals among other ingredients. You can find him in front of Lulu and Po on Mondays or follow him on insta. Word has it, he just came into a giant Maitake!
