CloseTR Tállya Radicals was launched in 2012 in the village of Tállya by a group of four friends who shared a passion for Tokaji but wanted to push the envelope a little. Working organically from the beginning, they were unafraid of experimentation and set out to produce fresher, lighter wines while maintaining the vigor of this ancient, venerable region. Édes is a late harvest blend of 80% Furmint and 20% Harslevelu that’s harvested by hand in mid October, fermented spontaneously with native yeast and aged in 300L Hungarian oak barrels for 8 months. This ambrosial wine delivers aromas and flavors of apricot, passion fruit, tangerine, lychee and pineapple with a hint of spearmint. At 76 grams per liter of residual sugar, it’s firmly in the dessert wine camp but not nearly as sweet as a typical Sauternes, Ice Wine or traditional 4-6 Puttonyos Tokaji. On the contrary, it’s balanced, refreshing, and can be enjoyed before, during or after a meal with cheese platters, foie gras, spicy Asian cuisine or fruit tarts.
