CloseA rustic biodynamic blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache, and 20% Cinsault, Serre de Berty is an honest, unpretentious peasant wine in the best sense of the word. It’s hand harvested from low-yielding, old gnarly vines, fermented spontaneously for 6-8 weeks and aged for 24 months in large ex-Burgundy barrels. The nose has aromas of wild forest berries and a whiff of the farm, followed by a palate that’s dominated by dark fruit and gaminess with herbal, peppery and mineral notes. Medium plus bodied with a grippy, dry tannic finish, this wine craves rich, intense foods. Pair with a classic rack of lamb with chanterelles or shiitake, or a strong cheese like Roquefort or Morbier
