A. Bergere Origine Brut is a tribute to the origins of their vineyards in the picturesque village of Fèrebrianges, Étoges, and Congy with their first planting dating back to 1848. It’s a classic Champagne blend 70% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier grown on sandy, chalky and clay soils. 70% of the final blend is from the 2022 vintage with 30% coming from their perpetual reserve wine. Primary fermentation takes place in 228 liter barrels as well as in tank then the second fermentation in the bottle lasts about two years with a low dosage of 4 grams per liter. Aromas of white fruits such as nectarine and white vine peach emerge through the bubbles while the palate is light, fresh, crisp and clean with a very subtle biscuity, creamy note and a dash of bitters. Pairs perfectly with a seafood tower or tea time finger sandwiches.
