CloseA Ma Guise, which loosely translates to 'as I wish', is an iconoclastic field blend by Jean-Christophe Comor, a former political advisor, teach and author who left Paris for Provence and embarked on a career in wine. The blend consists of Clairette Blanche, Rose and Verte; Carignan Blanc et Noir; Mourvedre Noir, Gris et Blanc; Grenache Noir, Counoise, Cinsault, Vermentino, Roussanne, Muscat a Petits Grains, Macabeu, Syrah, Ugni Blanc, Biancu Gentil and Csomor (an obscure Hungarian varietal apparently named after Comor's grandfather - really?!). Farmed organically and harvested by hand, this rustic, medium+ bodied, slightly barnyardy red with wild black raspberry notes and a firm, dry finish pairs perfectly with roast chicken, Swiss cheese burgers or lentil stew.
