Master Distiller Shane Fraser, also Scottish, brings over 30 years of experience producing single malt whisky to the Oblong Valley in Wassaic, NY. The Revolutionary Series was conceived by Joel Levangia, founder, GM, and history buff, to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary, by commemorating the Battles of the American Revolution with a set of 57 (!!) distinct whiskies, collectively known as The Whiskey of Reason. On September 16th, 1776 General Washington led his continental forces to victory in the Battle of Harlem Heights, marking his first battlefield victory since declaring Independence and providing the revolution with a much-needed morale boost. It’s aged for just shy of 6 years in a 50/50 combination of small 15- and 25-gallon ex-bourbon casks and bottled at a stiff 92 proof. Barley and cinnamon spice aromas accent a fruity and spiced palate with baked apple and orange zest notes. Sip neat, with a few drops of distilled water, or with a rock.
