Tenmile Distillery makes some of the best farm to flask American Single Malts from 100% NY State grown malted barley in their custom copper stills and mash tuns built by Forsyths in Rothes, Scotland. Master Distiller Shane Fraser, also Scottish, brings over 30 years of experience producing single malt whisky to the Oblong Valley in Wassaic, NY. The Revolutionary Series was conceived by Joel Levangia, founder, GM, and history buff, to commemorate the battles of the War of Independence as we celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary. The entire series is comprised of 57 (!!) distinct whiskies, collectively known as The Whiskey of Reason. On December 26th, 1776, after General George Washington secretly moved 2,500 continental soldiers across the Delaware River, he led a surprise attack on British forces in Trenton and, after just an hour of fighting, claimed a decisive victory that was a pivotal moment in the war, leading to a string of successful battles. The Battle of Trenton is aged for 5 years in a 90/10 combination of ex-Bourbon half barrels and an Oloroso Sherry hogshead. Citrus and caramel apple aromas lead into a rich, vibrant palate with notes of milk chocolate, fennel, fig, tobacco and smoke. Bottled at a sturdy 92 proof, it’s zesty aromas accompany bold caramel and black pepper notes. Sip neat, with a few drops of distilled water, or with a rock.
