CloseAward winning champion of Albariño, Benito Santos got his start working in his grandfather’s vineyards in the 1930s where he made wine to serve in his taberna. This dry, medium-bodied white is made from organic 100% Albarino hand-harvested from multiple plots in Val do Salnés. The grapes are spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged on their lees for three months which gives the wine a deliciously rich texture. Its mouthwatering nose demonstrates green apple, fresh cut grass, white flowers, and lemon zest. Sea-breeze salinity, granitic minerality and crisp acidity lift the palate and frame the ripe tropical fruit, lively citrus and honeydew flavors that follow. Pair with squid ink seafood paella or white gazpacho served with melon.
