Cousin Oscar is a highly drinkable, thirst-quenching red Jean-Marie made for fun and pleasure. Mostly Cinsault with a little but of Pinot Noir, the grapes are de-stemmed, crushed and undergo a gentle maceration. The wine is spontaneously fermented, aged in tank, and bottled the following spring with a just a small addition of sulfur. Its label is a combination of designs Jean-Marie put together from 50’s magazines. He named the wine after his girlfriend’s cousin (yes, Oscar) who is apparently irresistible to the ladies. A very versatile wine, you can drink it lightly chilled with Banh Mi, chicken, quiche or a Cobb salad.
