Red Tail Ridge’s Blau Franc is a fresh, chillable, fruit-forward, 50/50 blend of Blaufrankisch and Cabernet Franc that’s vinified separately due to the pick dates being so far apart, then blended together. All Estate grown, sustainably farmed fruit from Earl’s Place, the Blaufränkisch was picked on September 30 while the Cab Franc was picked on October 21. Both varietals were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel using indigenous yeast then blended back together. Light to medium-bodied with bright cherry/cranberry flavors, supple tannins, moderate acidity and a whiff of funky barnyard, this great, local red pairs perfectly with breaded pork chops or a Caprese Panini.
