CloseVin de Jardin is 100% old vine Grolleau in the Coteaux de l'Aubance within a region, colloquially known as Anjou Noir, distinguished by the dark, heat-retaining soils of schist, gneiss, and granite as opposed to the white, chalky soils of Sancerre and elsewhere in the Loire Valley, The vineyard is certified organic and biodynamic, harvested by hand and the grapes are rigorously sorted to ensure that only the ripest, purest fruit goes into the wine. Fermented whole-cluster for 10 days in fiberglass and aged six months in the same vessels, the wine sees no additives and reflects the team's commitment to low-intervention, terroir-driven winemaking. The result is a succulent, chillable red with aromas and flavors of fresh, wild red berries and current, a touch of earthy barnyard and mineral notes with light tannins and balanced acidity. Pairs perfectly with Tuna Tartare, baked Camembert with garlic, thyme and olive oil, or marinated chicken skewers.
