CloseChateau L’Escart, built in 1752, is situated in the heart of Bordeaux, between the Dordogne and Garonne rivers, on a clay-limestone and gravel plateau which is conducive to producing textbook Bordeaux. Le Bergey is their entry level, traditional Bordeaux red blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot that’s firm, fresh and balanced. Farmed organically, the grapes are fermented spontaneously with native yeast in stainless steel tank then aged in neutral French oak barrels. The result is a medium-to-full-bodied red with bold, dark fruit notes of cassis and black raspberry, hints of licorice, baking chocolate and firm, dry tannins. Perfect for a smashburger, steak frites or a basic cheese and salami board.
