CloseWith its history dated back to 910, the estate of Clos des Vignes du Maynes was first owned by the monks of the Abbey in Cluny for many years, and was acquired by Pierre and Jeanne Guillot in 1952. Julien joined his father in 1998 and fully converted to the biodynamic practice in 2001. The estate is a 7 hectare enclosure with a full east exposure located in the AOC of Mâcon Cruzille, with most vines grown on limestone soil. The grapes are hand harvested and go through semi-carbonic maceration with 18 month aging in old barrels. The nose delivers a brambly profile of wild blueberry, black raspberry supported by a spice undertone of black pepper and nutmeg. The light body wine retains refreshing acidity and gentle tannin, with a touch of minerality at the finish. Served slightly chilled with pot au feu and vegetable au gratin.
