Near Ponte Leccia, Clos Venturi sits on a sandstone hill between two mountain ranges deep within Ile de la Beauté, where Manu Venturi is building upon the pioneering work of his father, Jean-Marc. Manu is dedicated to revealing the fullest potential of this terroir while preserving the beauty of the island and its native grape varieties. Brama is made from 100% Sciaccarellu from 30+ year old vines. The grapes are destemmed and macerated for 45 days at cool temperatures prior to fermentation with indigenous yeast in both foudre and barrel, then aged in neutral oak for an additional 14-18 months. The result is a herbaceous, medium-bodied red with brambly red and black cherry flavors, a hint of rosemary and black olive with firm, dry tannins and bright, balanced acidity. Savory and serious, this wine pairs perfectly with Corsican Ripieni (stuffed artichoke, zucchini or eggplant) or a wild boar stew!
