CloseAgustí Costa is a young winemaker, with deep family roots in grape growing, seeking out overlooked micro-parcels in Alt Penedès to craft wines that honor the unique terroir and the spirit of winemakers that came before him. In Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, his vines are rooted in a biodynamic patchwork of clay, limestone, and sandy soils…with the occasional foraging boar. For this cuvée, Agustí and his partner Paula Sandoval blended old-vine Macabeu and Xarello with younger vine Malvasia de Sitges before the wine is aged on fine lees in cement tanks under flor, which adds texture and a bit of saline minerality. This all culminates in light yellow hues and aromas of nectarine, orange zest, and white flowers with flavors of bright, fresh lemon, lime, passionfruit, a touch of petrol and grass with crisp but balanced acidity and the salty, flor minerality. Pairs deliciously with Escargot a la Llauna, Fideuà, or citrus salad with avocado.
