CloseLocated on the outskirts of Breganze in the Vicenza province of Northeast Italy, La Costa produces stunning, natural wines from local varietals with a commitment to both quality and their social mission to support individuals with disabilities and trauma. Each label is hand-painted by a member of their team and they often serenade their vines by playing music in the vineyard. Made from 100% Vespaiolo that's handpicked during the coldest hours of the day, manually sorted and destemmed prior to a brief cold maceration. Fermentation occurs naturally at 16–18°C in stainless steel where the wine is aged for five months with bâtonnage to extract more flavor, followed by 6–9 months in bottle to settle. Aromas of elderberry and white currants lead into a fresh palate of pineapple, cantaloupe, and orchard fruit. Medium bodied with balanced acidity, this wine pairs beautifully with Baccalà alla Vicentina, a traditional salt cod dish of Vicenza, or venture further with Okonomiyaki, savory Japanese cabbage and scallion pancakes.
