Kavalan is Taiwan’s first whiskymaker and the nation’s only family-owned whisky distillery. The subtropical heat that led experts to think quality Taiwanese whiskey couldn’t be done turns out to be their biggest asset. In their five-storey maturation warehouses, heat makes the whiskey mature faster. At a young age, Kavalan is out-shinning it’s competitors. The nose is fruity which a medley of papaya, banana, apple and floral notes. The palate has vanilla, coconut, and bit of bitterness to balance the sweetness. A whisky to eat with and to sip happily.
