2018 Ronchi di Cialla Friulano - Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy (750ml) - $24
Surrounded by chestnut, oak, and wild cherry groves in the hills between the Alps and the Adriatic in Northeastern Italy, Ronchi di Cialla got their start reviving varietals indigenous to Friuli. Certified as biodiversity friendly, they remain committed to using natural practices with minimal interference, having been one of the first winemakers to adopt integrated agriculture with low environmental impact. This white is made of 100% Friulano (fka Tocai Friulano), fermented with native yeasts and aged for three months on the lees, a technique that adds complexity, fermentation flavors and a bit of body to the wine. Nonetheless, it's a light-bodied wine with aromas of zesty lemon and green pear. The palate is crisp with stone fruit and citrus flavors, distinct minerality and a subtle bitter almond finish. Drink as an aperitif with Fontina cheese and Marcona Almonds, or alongside Spaghetti alle Vongole.

2021 Roberto Henríquez Rivera Del Notro 100yr Old Vines Blanco - Bío-Bío Valley, Chile (750ml) - $26
Roberto Henríquez’ Blanco, is a crisp, precise wine that we consider more of an orange wine than a white due to its length of skin contact and more complex style. A blend of three lesser-known varietals, Moscatel, Chasselas, and Semillón from the coastal region of the Itata valley, the grapes are farmed organically and fermented in stainless steel for two months on the skins before aging in 20% used barrels and 80% stainless. The result is a wine that’s medium-bodied and dry with intense minerality, salinity white floral notes and sandalwood spice. Enjoy this with empanadas de pino or a mushroom galette.

2021 Succés Vinicola Conca de Barbera La Trompa - Catalonia, Spain (750ml) - $23
Mariona Vendrell and Albert Canela fell in love studying oenology in Tarragona in 2011 at the tender age of 20 and launched Succés Vinícola shortly thereafter. They began by making red wines from Trepat, a native Spanish grape almost exclusively used for Rosé Cava. They source the fruit for Succés fruit from older, organically farmed vineyards owned by local abuelos and continue to push the boundaries of what’s considered possible in the region with good farming and introspective winemaking. La Trompa is an exquisite light bodied red that sees a very short maceration before being pressed and aged for 4 months. The wine is pale and wild, with light barnyardy aromas and notes of flint, smoke, and tart cherries. Serve with a slight chill alongside an array of tapas, such as olive tapenade, squid ink calamari, Croquettes de Queso, y Pinchos Morunos (marinated pork skewers).

2020 Chateau du Petit Thouars Les Georges Chinon - Loire Valley, France (750ml) - $22
Chateau du Petit Thouras is a family run estate nestled amongst the natural limestone caves in the Chinon appellation of the Loire Valley. The property was deeded to the family by Cardinal Richelieu in 1636, and was used for winemaking for some time centuries ago before the vineyards’ revival in 1975. “Les Georges” is produced entirely from the free-run juice of organically grown Cabernet Franc, with classic Chinon characteristics of vibrant fruit blended with earthy minerality due to the limestone. The aromas show red berry, floral, and white peppercorn notes, while the palate is medium in body and acidity with ripe red berries and a firm, dry, tannic finish. It is a classic, savory wine that would be perfect alongside a leek and tomato tart or beef stew served over butter noodles.
