2020 Kontozisis Drop by Drop The Jar Fills Up Roditis - Karditsa, Thessalia, Greece (750ml)
|Availability:||In stock (33)|
Certified organic since 1991, virtually unheard of in Greece at the time, Kontozisis has been perfecting the art of natural winemaking with only indigenous varietals in Karditsa, a rural town in Thessaly, that also happens to be the bicycle capital of Greece. The winery and vineyards are on the foothills of mount Agrafa, in two distinctive terroirs between Kanalia and Dafnospilia. Their Roditis is made from free run juice only with no pressing, native yeast fermentation in stainless steel and bottled with no fining or filtration. It’s medium-bodied but presents itself as light and fresh with crisp acidity, delicious tropical and stone fruit flavors followed by a spicy hint of sandalwood on the long, dry finish. Pairs wonderfully with Skopelitiki tiropita, a local feta cheese in phyllo dough delicacy or steamed mussels with white wine with garlic.
