Surrounded by chestnut, oak, and wild cherry groves in the hills between the Alps and the Adriatic in Northeastern Italy, Ronchi di Cialla got their start reviving varietals indigenous to Fruili. Certified as biodiversity friendly, they remain committed to using natural practices with minimal interference, having been one of the first winemakers to adopt integrated agriculture with low environmental impact. This 100% Refrosco dal Peduncolo rosato is the newest addition to their lineup. It’s light bodied and refreshing with fresh, wild strawberry flavors, nice minerality and balanced acidity. Perfect on its own as an aperitif, it also pairs well with linguine and clam sauce, or an array of Cicchetti, Venice’s answer to tapas.
