2022 Grape Ink En Plein Air - Willamette Valley, Oregon (750ml)

After studying viticulture and enology in Bordeaux, winemaker Jarad Hadi settled on 26 acres of mostly forest and some vineyard in the northernmost tip of Oregon by the Columbia river. He farms with organic and biodynamic practices and makes low intervention wines from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and filed blends of Jura/Savoie varietals. En Plein Air is 100% Pinot Noir that receives a variety of treatments - some of the grapes are direct pressed right out of the vineyard, some see a short maceration, some extended carbonic maceration and others ferment on their skins as long as a typical red. This makes for a really lovely wine with some of the elements you’d expect from a white, rosé, or red; it’s chillable, light in body with notes of pure raspberry and blackberry that finishes off with a dry, firm mineral finish. Great alongside a vibrant green salad with nettles and toasted nuts, or herbed chicken fresh off the grill.
