2022 Gianfranco Alessandria Langhe Nebbiolo - Piedmont, Italy (750ml)

Gianfranco Alessandria has been at the helm of his family’s vineyard, located in the small village of Monforte d’Alba in Barolo, since 1986. Straddling traditional and modern winemaking practices, this medium-bodied, 100% Nebbiolo is harvested by hand and aged for 6 months in 90% used oak. It exhibits some of the fresh, black cherry and floral notes that are characteristic of Nebbiolo with some of the smokey, leather and earthy qualities of the more prestigious, neighboring Barolos. Pairs wonderfully with pork chops but even better would be a Pappardelle Wild Boar Ragu!
