2022 Anne Pichon Sauvage Gris Montagne - Ventoux, Rhone, France (750ml)

Anne Pichon and her late husband Marc revived Domaine le Murmurium in the Rhone in the late ‘90s, after it had been abandoned for years; a vineyard named for the Latin word for “the buzzing song of bees” is perfectly descriptive for this winemaker so focused on her natural environment. This organic rose - mostly Grenache, blended with Cinsault, Syrah and Carignan - is pale and bone dry with lovely melon aromas, distinct mineral notes, a hint of salinity and a crisp persistent finish. Pair with strong, soft cheese like Reblochon, or Char Siu Pork Bao.
