2021 Georgian Valleys Saperavi - Kakheti, Georgia (750ml)

This is a classic wine from an ancient, yet relatively unknown region and an obscure, indigenous varietal. The Saperavi grapes are farmed organically and harvested by hand. It's medium-bodied with firm, earthy tannins, lively red and black berry flavors, and subtle vanilla notes from barrel aging, of which about 15% is new. Pairs perfectly with pork chops or Chakapuli, the regional, tarragon-spiced lamb stew of Kakheti.
