Abendrot is the Austrian word for the color of the sky at sunset, and is a culmination of every variety grown in the Neuberg vineyard on Maria and Alex Koppitsch’s biodynamic certified family farm. Out of rocky limestone soils grow Welschriesling, Rosenmuskateller, Blaufränkisch, Saint Laurent, Chardonnay, and Pinot Blanc. The Welschriesling sees skin-contact maceration while the Rosenmuskateller undergoes semi-carbonic maceration, resulting in a vibrant, sippable wine. Pair with pad see ew or a poppy strudel.
