Leaving life as a rock drummer in New Orleans, Andrew Reginald Young began making small production, low-intervention wines from cool climate sites in the Willamette Valley in 2012. For this Cuvee of Pinot Gris, the grapes were sourced from four Organic sites in 2020, and saw 2-3 weeks of carbonic fermentation with indigenous yeast before direct press into neutral barrels and rested for 10 months. The result is a super flinty, salmon colored wine with deep stone fruit notes and a savory hint of chestnut with a slight cherry finish. This wine begs cheese, try it with a robust gouda or a triple cream, like Cowgirl Creamery’s Mt. Tam.
