Mikey & Gina Giugni started Scar of the Sea winery in San Luis Obispo in 2012 and source their grapes from Organic vineyards around the Santa Maria Valley, the Santa Cruz mountains, and the SLO coast. Their Vino De Los Ranchos Chardonnay is fermented with native yeast in Oak barrels and aged 17 months on the Lees. It’s bright, zesty and zippy, with aromas of white flower petal, slight oxidative notes, and a touch of oak followed by a creamy finish. Drink alongside seared halibut with butter lemon sauce.
