2020 Piri Naturel Landwein Riesling - Nahe, Germany (750ml)

Winemaker Christine Pieroth’s family has been making wine in the Nahe region of Germany since 1781, and has taken a new direction under Christine’s Piri Naturel line. Focused on organic and biodynamic agricultural practices and natural cellar methods, these wines are fermented only with wild yeasts and low amounts of sulfur, if any. Her Riesling ferments in whole bunches in small used barrels and stainless steel, before the grapes are foot stomped and pressed lightly, and allowed to ferment for 6 more months. The wine is effervescent, crisp, and bone dry, with notes of lemon and grapefruit pith. Perfect alongside spicy thai green curry, or as dessert with olive oil ice cream.
