Flavia Rallo is a fourth-generation winemaker at the helm of her family’s estate, who have been tending to vines in Sicily since 1860. She employs organic and biodynamic agricultural practices and a hands-off approach in the cellar, fermenting wines with native yeast and low amounts of sulfur. This selection is a blend of two Sicilian varieties – 50% Frappato and 50% Perricone – that age together in Slavonian oak for 6 months before bottling. Medium-bodied and fresh, you can expect notes of dark fruit, hearty herbs, and tobacco on the nose, followed by a palate of ripe cherry and plum, cloves, and eucalyptus. With enough structure and spice to match a flavorful meal, try this with char siu or spicy eggplant and pepper stir fry.
