Donkey & Goat is the project of Tracey and Jared Brandt, a husband-and-wife duo based in Berkeley, California who have been vinifying natural wines together for over a decade. After studying in the Rhone Valley for a year, the two returned to California, keen to continue growing Rhone varieties that thrive in the warm California climate. This selection is a lively field blend of Merlot, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, all of which ferment separately before being blended together and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Bright acidity and ripe, dark fruit with a touch of spice and funk make this wine an adventurous and versatile pairing. We’d love it with a slight chill alongside jerk chicken and plantains.
