The vineyards of Cardedu are located in Sardinia's sparsely populated Southeast; a land of turquoise shimmering sea and ragged-dry cliffs. Here, the Loi family grows and makes wines from the local varieties Vermentino, Cannonau, and Monica. The Monica grapes are fermented with native yeasts in cavernous cement tanks under the house. It is a robust and fresh light-to-medium bodied red with herbal and earth notes and just a touch of red fruit. Great served alongside pasta with garlic, parmesan and olive oil, or salty cheese board with plump, green Castelvetrano Olives from neighboring Sicily.
