Founded in 1964, Sterling Vineyards, which has accumulated prime vineyards throughout Napa over the years, presents another release of their esteemed, full-bodied Heritage Cab. The fruit comes from a few choice mountain plots as well as some from the valley floor, resulting in a true cross section of the Napa Valley AVA. Placed in stainless steel tanks for a two-day cold soak designed to extract color and flavor from the grapes prior to fermentation, the wine is then aged for 18 months in a combination of French, Hungarian and American oak barrels. Aromas and flavors of dark red and black fruits, including black cherry, raspberry, blackberry and plum as well as secondary notes of mocha, oak spice, cassis and vanilla. This wine is well-structured with copious amounts of ripe, round tannins that integrate seamlessly with the body and flavors of this classic CA Cab. Pairs perfectly with a juicy, medium-rare ribeye or elevates a really good cheddar cheeseburger!
